About The Position

The Part-Time K–1 Instructional Coach builds the instructional capacity of co-teachers and associate teachers by providing job-embedded coaching, modeling, and feedback that improves small-group instruction, foundational literacy and math outcomes, and classroom execution.

Requirements

• Experience teaching or coaching in K–2 classrooms.
• Strong knowledge of early literacy and foundational math instruction.
• Demonstrated skill in adult coaching and feedback.
• Organized, reliable, and highly responsive.
• Alignment to Ethos’ mission, values, and high expectations.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly job-embedded coaching cycles for assigned co-teachers and associate teachers (observe, model, co-plan, debrief).
• Model small-group instruction aligned to school curricula and scope & sequence.
• Support lesson internalization for K–1 foundational skills (phonics, decoding, fluency, early writing, and math foundations).
• Create and maintain simple, actionable coaching action steps for each teacher.
• Support implementation of classroom routines, transitions, and instructional systems.
• Partner with MTSS Data Coordinator to align coaching to scholar data, intervention placement, and movement.
• Support fidelity of Tier 1 and Tier 2 instructional practices.
• Communicate regularly with Primary School MCI regarding progress, trends, and needs.
