Job Summary: The Instructional Coach works directly with teachers, administrators, and parents in coordinating the education delivery utilizing an in-person coaching framework and provides technical assistance to ensure a continuum of service options with the UCP model framework. This position is an on-campus position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree Preferred – Elementary or Exceptional Education.
  • Certified in the State of Florida/ESE endorsed
  • Reading Endorsed
  • 3 Years experience in exceptional student education
  • Demonstrated success working with people, in establishing goals, objectives and action plans to produce expected ends/results.
  • Minimum Experience: 5 Years’ teacher experience in exceptional student education
  • Leadership experience in a school setting.

  • Strong knowledge in RTI process
  • Possess knowledge of the Science of Reading
  • Strong working knowledge of research based best practices in ELA, Reading, and Mathematics.
  • Ability to effectively and successfully apply research-based practices in classroom lesson modeling for instructional support.
  • Strong understanding of student assessment and progress monitoring protocols as well as State of Florida assessment and student growth expectations.
  • Ability to accurately collect, choose, and analyze student data to determine appropriate areas and strategies for academic instructional pathways.
  • Act as an “expert” in student achievement and instruction to provide recommendations to Consortium leadership regarding effective programs, assessments, intervention plans, technology support, teacher needs, and professional development.
  • Maintain, and assist teachers in maintaining, comprehensive documentation of student academic needs and progress through a well-documented coaching cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead the MTSS Team (i.e. instructional data meetings), oversee data collection, assist in developing intervention plans, provide intervention, provide instructional coaching, provide technical assistance to teachers/other faculty and identify/coordinate professional development.
  • Deliver targeted instruction through small group and one-on-one intervention sessions.
  • Collaborate with the MTSS team by participating in instructional data meetings, overseeing data collection, supporting the development of intervention plans, and providing technical assistance and professional development to instructional staff.
  • Partner with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and related teams to support coaching, intervention programming, curriculum implementation, and data collection.
  • Supervise interventionists and or tutors by overseeing program implementation, providing training, and monitoring effectiveness.
  • Ensure the consistent implementation of evidence-based instructional practices across classrooms.
  • Monitor instructional fidelity and provide actionable feedback to support adherence to high-quality instructional practices.
  • Demonstrate model lessons, facilitate co-teaching opportunities, and support curriculum development aligned with standards-based instruction and the Science of Reading.
  • Stay current on best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, and provide leadership in vetting and integrating these practices into the educational program through training and book studies.
  • Plan and lead professional development sessions focused on reading instruction and intervention strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Manage the distribution and inventory of curriculum materials and instructional resources.
  • Facilitate collaborative instructional planning to enhance alignment and effectiveness of instructional delivery.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate research-based strategies into classroom practice using the UCP Instructional Coaching Model.
  • Maintain, and support teachers in maintaining, thorough documentation of student academic needs, intervention plans, and progress as part of the instructional coaching cycle.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support school-wide instructional goals and student achievement.
