Primary Montessori Extended Care Assistant
About The Position
Khalsa Montessori School is seeking a dedicated, reliable, Extended Care Assistant who will supervise the Extended Care(after school) program. Candidates must have experience working with young children and share our commitment to holistic education. The hours are 11:00am - 6pm, Monday-Friday. This position begins ASAP. We are looking for individuals with a sincere interest in alternative, holistic education. Requirements
- Strong written and communication skills
- Clear boundaries
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Physically healthy and free of chemical addictions (non-smoking)
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- CPR & First Aid certification
- Negative TB Test within 12 months before joining work
- A minimum 2 years experience with Primary Aged Children (3-5/6yrs)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Ensuring a fun, safe, and supportive environment for the after school & vacation program
- Plan and supervise student activities
- Supervise the Extended Care staff and oversee the entire program
- Supervise children during nap, snack time, and on the playground
- Work with the Classroom teachers and communicate about student behavior
- Be in regular communication with the Site Coordinator
- Participate in Staff Meetings
- Communicate with Parents as needed
