About The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time Primary Care Physician to join our team at Western Reception and Diagnostic Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. Correctional medicine offers a uniquely rewarding career with true work–life balance. The Physician provides medical assessments and evaluations, provides treatment for emergent, urgent, and routine medical issues, provides and supervises medical treatment for chronic medical conditions, and participates in organizational initiatives to help prevent diseases and injuries of patients in a correctional setting. The Physician works under the direction of the Site Medical Director and/or the Statewide Medical Director in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator (HSA) to ensure that efficient and clinically appropriate medical services are provided.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required
  • Active, unrestricted Missouri MD/DO license or ability to obtain one required
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine required
  • Active DEA and MO BNDD
  • Ability to pass credentialing and background check
