About The Position

The Pricing Manager is responsible for developing and leading pricing strategies across Wheeler’s product lines and business groups to maximize profitability while maintaining market competitiveness. This role requires a highly analytical, data-driven mindset to manage pricing for a large portfolio of SKUs across multiple sales channels, including USPS, Fleet, and E-Commerce. The manager will work closely with Product Line Category Managers/Specialists, General Managers, Buyers, Finance, Analytics, Sales, Procurement, and Operations to establish best-in-class pricing standards, tools, and methodologies. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial awareness of the truck parts or automotive aftermarket industry and is skilled in market analysis, financial modeling, pricing systems, and stakeholder communication. The role also leads continuous improvement initiatives, supports contract and dynamic pricing, and oversees a small team of pricing analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • OR 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in pricing, finance, or analytics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Experience with pricing tools and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, etc.)
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across functions
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
  • Ability to travel to customers, supplier sites, and meetings when necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related analytics field
  • 6+ years in a pricing leadership role, preferably in the automotive aftermarket or heavy-duty truck parts industry
  • Experience managing dynamic pricing strategies for e-commerce platforms
  • Familiarity with margin analysis, cost modeling, and pricing optimization tools
  • Experience with large product catalogs and complex supply chains
  • Ability to create Excel macros or experience in SQL, Python, or R is a strong plus
  • Led a team of 1–3+ direct reports and contributed to system/process transformation

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain pricing strategies that reflect product lifecycle, competitive landscape, freight/logistics costs, tariffs, and regional variability.
  • Lead pricing strategy formulation for thousands of SKUs in B2B, B2C, fleet, retail, and e-commerce channels.
  • Analyze financial impact of pricing decisions, report on margin performance, cost trends, and revenue optimization.
  • Define and enforce pricing governance and standard operating procedures across the organization.
  • Manage and improve pricing processes, tools, and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, AS400).
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Procurement, Product, Finance, Analytics) to ensure cohesive, profit-driven decision-making, and understand customer pricing feedback.
  • Support and lead pricing components of RFPs, bids, quoting, and contract negotiations.
  • Maintain and update price lists, tiers, and discount schedules across platforms and segments.
  • Leverage advanced Excel, BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and ERP pricing modules for reporting and automation.
  • Conduct competitor and market pricing analysis to benchmark and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Oversee implementation of dynamic pricing strategies for e-commerce and online marketplaces.
  • Coach and manage a small team (1–3 direct reports); foster a data-driven and collaborative culture.
  • Drive pricing transformation initiatives and support system upgrades or pricing software implementations (e.g., Zilliant, PROS).
  • Identify margin leakage and propose corrective actions through cost and price analysis.
  • Build pricing models that incorporate customer segmentation, value perception, and product differentiation. And to forecast revenue, margin, and customer impact under different pricing strategies or scenarios.
  • Ensure pricing practices comply with legal standards, MAP policies, and channel agreements.
  • Provide strategic pricing recommendations to senior leadership and support P&L owners in achieving margin targets.
