About The Position

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Routinely enters products and prices into SMS Point of Sale database, makes updates as necessary. Executes promotional programs by entering prices, preparing signs, importing bulk data from NCG/UNFI and other suppliers. Routinely prints, cuts, and hangs sale signs, promotional signs, shelf tags and other signage throughout both stores. Executes pricing strategy as defined by the Pricing Manager. Reviews invoices for cost changes, enters cost changes to SMS Point of Sale database. Performs pricing audits on retail sales floor. Audits and submits coupons from all coupon promotions. Assists departments in hanging tags/signs, as assigned. Assists Front End with Point of Sale (cash register) technical support. Assists Pricing Manager in the maintenance of Pricing equipment, including but not limited to Printers and Inventory Scan Guns. Verify accuracy of the cashier counts by reconciling cash. Prepare deposits for the courier to pick up. Communicate with Customer Service if there are issues with a cashier’s drawer. Escalate to Store Management if discrepancies are out of the ordinary or require additional follow-up. Participates in Open Book Management. Attend collaborative meetings and trainings as necessary. Regularly check email for important company communications and review posted memos. Attend and actively participate in department meetings, store-wide and org-wide meetings, and trainings, as requested. Assist in other departments, inventory counts, store-wide cleaning, and perform all other duties, as assigned. Requirements

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Analytical ability and proficiency in cash counting and math.
  • Must have clear and accurate penmanship, so all numbers and letters are legible.
  • Ability to use a variety of programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively and be an active listener.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously, prioritize while remaining flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to all organizational and department rules, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to those listed in the employee handbook, and Health and Safety guidelines.

  • Ability to work in moderate and loud noise environments including, but not limited to; computers, paging, telephones, human voices, sound system and machinery.
  • Job-related travel between Arcata and Eureka store, reliable form of transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pricing Programs, and Point of Sale software experience preferred
  • Prior technical support experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Natural Foods Industry preferred.
