About The Position

The Pricer is responsible for developing accurate, compliant, and competitive pricing for government and defense-related proposals. This role supports the capture and proposal lifecycle by preparing detailed cost proposals, labor pricing models, bill of material estimates, subcontractor price analyses, and cost narratives in accordance with FAR/DFARS and customer requirements. The Pricer works closely with the Capture Team, CFO, Finance, and Purchasing to ensure pricing strategies align with company objectives and contractual compliance requirements. This position requires experience in the defense contracting environment and an understanding of government proposal cost structures. Education Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field preferred (depending on level of role) Experience in government/defense contracting pricing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proposal & Labor Pricing Develop detailed cost proposals in response to RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitations
  • Build and maintain labor pricing models, including direct labor rates, indirect rates, escalation, and wrap rates
  • Prepare Basis of Estimate (BOE) documentation and supporting cost narratives
  • Analyze historical cost data and competitive pricing strategies
  • Develop pricing volumes in coordination with proposal team
  • Purchasing & Subcontract Support Assist Purchasing Team with pricing analysis for materials and subcontractors
  • Conduct price and cost analyses to ensure fair and reasonable pricing
  • Evaluate vendor quotes for compliance with proposal requirements
  • Support make-or-buy analysis
  • Financial & Compliance Coordination Work closely with CFO and Finance Team to validate indirect rates, overhead, G&A, and fee structures
  • Ensure pricing complies with FAR, DFARS, and other regulatory requirements
  • Support audit requests and documentation (DCAA readiness as applicable)
  • Assist in developing forward pricing rate proposals when needed
  • Capture & Strategy Support Collaborate with Capture Team to align pricing strategy with win themes
  • Participate in bid/no-bid discussions from a pricing perspective
  • Provide competitive analysis and scenario modeling
  • Support post-submission pricing clarifications and negotiations
  • Documentation & Reporting Maintain organized pricing files and documentation for audit trail
  • Track assumptions, risks, and pricing revisions
  • Prepare internal pricing summaries for executive review
  • Assist with contract modifications and pricing updates as needed
