About The Position

This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor pricing to identify opportunities for pricing adjustments. The role is integral in supporting the creation of data-driven pricing models, conducting competitive analysis, and ensuring pricing strategies align with Giant Food’s financial objectives.

Requirements

  • Curiosity, entrepreneurial, self-starter, with strong problem-solving skills, ability to work cross-functionally while managing competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years combined experience in analytics, data science, consulting, finance, or similar experience.
  • SQL experience required, experience in Python programming a plus
  • Experience developing executive level presentations and comfortable presenting to an executive audience.
  • Experience working with large data sets and deriving actionable insights and recommendations, including those that have a financial impact.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Background in retail, pricing or revenue management a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, deployment, and monitoring of pricing and revenue optimization strategies.
  • Provide strategy recommendations to leadership and category teams by leveraging data across a variety of sources (e.g., financial, 3rd-party syndicated, marketing) to identify opportunities.
  • Responsible for vendor relationship, utilization, and training of pricing tool(s)
  • Influence pricing strategy by producing post-event analytics, measuring the financial impact of pricing decisions, tracking KPIs, and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Leverage competitive intelligence to understand market positioning and evaluate competitors vs. GF Brand
  • Capture and communicate insights to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Provide data driven recommendations to identify key points and opportunities that lead to meaningful and relevant conclusions
  • Take on stretch assignments outside of day to day and desk specific responsibility
  • Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
  • Use insights to develop strategies which anticipate changes in the marketplace
  • Identify pricing & promotion tactics to gain significant & substantial competitive advantage at a mastery level
  • Identify areas for gaining significant & substantial competitive advantage through product development initiatives at a mastery level
  • Provide advanced-level recognition & adapt to and changing situations, providing creative solutions to achieve desired results
  • Provide training, onboarding support, and contributive feedback as a leader amongst peers
