About The Position

U-Haul is seeking skilled technicians to maintain its fleet of Ford and GMC trucks, ensuring they remain in top condition for customers. This role is suitable for individuals new to the industry or those with prior vehicle repair experience. U-Haul boasts the largest fleet of trucks and trailers, which is updated annually, providing opportunities to work on the latest equipment. The company supports career growth through its Technician Training Program, offering classes from Ford, GMC, and U-Haul. Technicians will be provided with necessary tools and will benefit from the experience of long-time team members in a family-like atmosphere. The preventive maintenance technician will utilize U-Haul's proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles, with ample support and tools for success and career advancement.

Requirements

Driver’s license
The ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
Basic mechanical aptitude
Basic computer skills
Regular attendance

Responsibilities

Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes and replace minor parts.
Perform tire and brake maintenance.
Occasionally road-test vehicles.
Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
Willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.
