About The Position

The Children’s Center Utah is seeking a Prevention Coordinator to support expectant parents and families with infants by providing education, connection, and trusted support. This position is on the Infant Toddler Court Team and focuses on building relationships, strengthening caregiver confidence, and connecting families to resources that promote safe, healthy beginnings and prevent entry into the child welfare system. You have experience and/or education in substance use disorder treatment and pathology, perinatal, newborn, and post-partum developmental and psychological needs. You are a skilled communicator. You have a connection to and understanding of the communities served. You work well independently. You have excellent time management abilities, can multi-task effectively and manage competing deadlines. You are detail oriented. You think ahead and can anticipate needs.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or public health preferred
  • Experience working with families or communities in a supportive or outreach role
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Must have reliable personal vehicle for local travel throughout Salt Lake County
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills helpful

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with pregnant individuals and families of infants
  • Provide education related to infant safety, caregiving, stress management, and early development
  • Connect families to community resources and supports
  • Promote caregiver strengths, resilience, and early help-seeking
  • Document services and collaborate with team members and community partners
  • Engage meaningfully in reflective supervision
