About The Position

This position is responsible for the development and revisions of prevention and education of curriculum, materials, and presentations in multiple formats and platforms across the organization. This individual will also facilitate presentations and trainings serving youth, caregivers, the hospitality industry, community-based groups, systems-based agencies, and the community at large.

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must maintain and have available an active working phone and reliable transportation.
  • Successful candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in education, human services, social work, gender studies, or a related field.
  • At least two years of teaching or education and training experience preferred.
  • Those selected for the position will have to complete a 50-hour advocate training and participate in continuing education activities a minimum of 3 times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the coordinator of the prevention and education programs and curriculum, including but not limited to, the Child Assault Prevention Program (CAP), YourSPACE, We Care, Stay SAFE and Enough Abuse.
  • Update and create curriculum or modifications for prevention and education programs adhering to best practices and evidence-based models.
  • Deliver educational programs as needed both internally at SOH and externally.
  • Assist the Programs Director and PREA Services Manager in assuring that all content/material meets intended goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for collecting and maintaining data and feedback from training evaluations to support program reporting and ongoing improvement.
  • Collect data on activities/services provided, client demographics, and other information for grant reporting and responsible for data entry into our management database, Collaborate.
  • Assist in the scheduling for community presentations and training requests.
  • As with all positions in the organization, this position is expected to go through, complete, and graduate from Advocacy University.
  • Assist the Volunteer Coordinator with event planning, Advocacy University (In Person/online) presentations and the coordination of outreach events as needed.
  • Participate in tabling events and resource fairs to promote SOH as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Programs Director and the PREA Services Manager to update content on community awareness initiatives.
  • Responsible for reviewing, updating, and maintaining the Advocacy University modules (Coassemble), Advocacy University Volunteer Manual, curriculum materials, and presentation PowerPoints to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with current prevention and education standards.
  • Organize and prepare materials for all prevention and education programs.
  • Represent SOH and the Community Engagement Department in external committees, taskforces, and other relevant partnerships that will help spread the word about the programs and services at SOH.
  • Responsible for supporting advocacy services as needed, including mandated reporting obligations, answering crisis and business phone calls, and assisting clients as needed which applies to all SOH positions.
