About The Position

The Pressure Relief Design Engineer provides process technical expertise on Relief Design to ensure that the plant is in compliance with relief design standards and codes. This role requires experience in relief design and good overall knowledge of documentation requirements. This role also assists with planning and implementation of relief design work requests. This person will be responsible for promoting consistency, accuracy and record retention for relief valve specification and sizing in Lake Jackson, TX.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is required
• Requires 5+ years experience in a Process Engineering - Relief Design
• Thorough knowledge of API 521, API-2000, and API-520
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with personnel, customers and external contractors.
• Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in PRDM (Pressure Relief Design Manual) is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated use of Microsoft Office systems with strong excel skills; SAP experience preferred.
