About The Position
Pressure Equipment Compliance Inspector (Trainee) — Syracuse, NY Salary: $70,000–$80,000 + Full Benefits + Company Vehicle Training provided to earn State Certificate of Competency & National Board “A” Endorsement We’re hiring a Pressure Equipment Compliance Inspector to support customers across Central New York, including Syracuse, Oswego, Auburn, and surrounding industrial corridors. This is a full‑time, permanent role with excellent benefits, paid time off, and a company‑provided vehicle. If you have experience with boilers, pressure vessels, welding, NDT/NDI, or Navy nuclear operations, you’ll find this to be a stable, high‑growth career path. You’ll work hands‑on in the field, ensuring the safety, quality, and code compliance of pressure equipment during fabrication, erection, and repair. Your inspections help protect people, facilities, and operations across Central New York’s manufacturing, utilities, and energy sectors.
Requirements
- Experience with high‑pressure boilers
- Experience operating, maintaining, or inspecting boilers or pressure vessels
- Working knowledge of ASME and NBIC Codes
- Strong communication skills and professional integrity
Nice To Haves
- Navy Nuclear (MMN, EMN, ETN)
- Welders with NDT/NDI experience (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT exposure)
- Industrial maintenance or utilities technicians
- Boiler operators or stationary engineers
- QA/QC technicians in fabrication or heavy industry
- Experience with pressure vessels, steam systems, or industrial mechanical equipment
- Risk survey or inspection experience
- National Board Commission (if already held)
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and accepting job packages
- Performing in‑process inspections
- Monitoring contractor quality‑control systems
- Witnessing hydrostatic tests
- Reviewing and signing required documentation
- Communicating professionally with clients and contractors
