About The Position

Job Summary: A Pressmen II - Web will produce published materials by operating and maintaining printing presses, under the direct instruction of a Pressman I.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine malfunctions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify quality defects.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications.
  • Strong Computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
  • Excellent time management skills and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency/fluent with English language, both written and verbal.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years previous related experience preferred
  • On-the-job training provided

Nice To Haves

  • Post high school graphic arts training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operates printing press from pre stages to post stages to produce published materials including direct mail, catalogs, etc. under the direction of the Pressman I.
  • Review job requirements to understand the scope and parameters of print jobs.
  • Prepares, set ups, adjusts, aligns, and configure machinery, (ink, rollers and paper, inline, folder stacker or jogger) and keeps supplies up to date to meet quality specifications of job.
  • Helps Pressman I with any tasks identified during the printing process.
  • Ability to operate/maintain ink jet system (if applicable)
  • Inspect proof sheets to evaluate the quality of printing.
  • Adjust press machinery, troubleshoot issues and make basic repairs to meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Learn Color Theory to maintain quality specifications of jobs.
  • Inform supervisor/Pressman I of problems with equipment or materials.
  • Drafts and submits reports for daily production totals as required.
  • Maintains a clean area around printing machinery.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks to maintain optimal equipment performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Nahan Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Follow all Nahan quality and safety policies and procedures.
  • Work assigned shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
