About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient operation of the sheet-fed press, web press, stitcher-trimmer, folder / trimmer, and other machinery critical to the production of printed materials. It is the entry level position in our press room. Job Functions The successful candidate must be dependable, self-starting, attentive to details and receptive to training. This position actively assists with the following duties: ● Stage and strip rolls with minimum amount of waste ● Inspect and spot problems on all rolls ● Hang plates in proper CMYK sequence and inspect / replace blankets ● Web the press ● Maintain work area for cleanliness and eliminate potential work hazards ● Make diagnostic spot checks for problems and be able to make minor repairs ● Set black and spot color ink ● Determine proper ink/water balance ● Perform preventative maintenance procedures on equipment and make entries into maintenance logs ● Must know how to time units and make roll setting adjustments ● Must check folios and imposition to ensure sequence and location of pages ● Monitor products throughout runs to ensure assigned areas meet specifications ● Know how to adjust, maintain, clean and engage web detectors ● Register single and multiple colors ● Demonstrate proper safety procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to lift at least 70 lbs
  • Good hand-to-eye coordination
  • Must work well with others
  • Able to take direction well
  • Flexibility in hours available for work
