About The Position

The Gill Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of honeycomb, high performance floor panels, cargo compartment liners and original equipment for passenger and freighter aircraft. The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products. The Gill Corporation is looking for a Press Operator who will perform troubleshooting, replace defective machine components, monitor the systems for efficiency, read instructional guides, determine product suitability, and inspect irregularities before and after the use of press machines to ensure smooth operations. Press Operators work to finish their projects by their respective deadlines and must follow safety guidelines. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • One or two years of related experience and/or training a plus but not required
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English well
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants will be asked to provide specific documentation to verify U.S. person status under the ITAR and the EAR. A “U.S. person” according to their definition is a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), or protected individual such as a refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Checks Gill process specifications against shop planner.
  • Loads and unloads press.
  • Operates press.
  • Break loads apart after pressing.
  • Inspects panels for correctness, and informs supervisor of any noncompliance prior to proceeding with balance of the job.
  • Records material usages and pressing conditions.
  • Operator identifies each panel with serial number and documents all traceability information on the shop planner.
  • Issue materials on system for each work order as needed.
  • Make sure all paper work is completed by the end of each work order.
  • Other essential duties may be assigned.
