About The Position

Introduction to the operation of the printing press. Includes handling of newsprint rolls, preparing for operation, plating, running of the press, cleaning, and routine maintenance. What you will do: Under supervision, will train on operation of the press units, including plating, setting ink and rollers, webbing, and operating controls Newsprint roll handling, newsprint warehouse operations, and reel room operations Operate forklift/clamp truck in a safe, competent manner Press maintenance tasks Work in a safe manner using all appropriate safety equipment, including guards and safe buttons Communicate effectively verbally and in writing What you will bring: Previous machine operation experience preferred Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms Previous warehouse operations experience, including fork lift operation, preferred Ability to read and understand instructions Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Regular and reliable attendance Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis. Heavy work may exert in excess of 100 pounds of force to move objects Benefits and Compensation: The hourly wage is $21.00. Requirements

  • Previous machine operation experience preferred
