About The Position

The Press Machine Operator operates and troubleshoots various processing equipment including, Divider/Rounders, Proofers, Hydraulic Presses, and Industrial Ovens to manufacture Heat Pressed Flour Tortillas.

Requirements

Must be willing and able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally
Team Member will flex/grip with wrists/hands
Team Member will walk, bend, stand, and climb steps

Responsibilities

Prepares for start-up or shut down of equipment as required
Keeps a legible accurate record as required including Press Line Operator's Log
Responsible for monitoring and adjusting equipment to maintain consistent dough ball weights
Responsible for monitoring and adjusting hydraulic press equipment to maintain consistent tortilla sizes and shapes
Responsible for monitoring and adjusting industrial oven to maintain consistent finished product
Maintains accurate records on log sheets and in a computer-based system
Ability to identify and troubleshoot product changes
Ensure product specifications are met in accordance with customers written specifications
Responsible for inspecting areas of responsibility for possible foreign material issues and promptly notifies Supervisor and QC of any contamination
Responsible for assisting blender operator as needed. Must be able to monitor the line while the blender operator is on break
Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor
Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements
Must perform all positions of rotation, if applicable
Required to use and read scales, thermometers, stopwatch and rulers
Ability to perform basic math functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc.) with use of calculator
