The Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining press brake machinery to bend, shape, and cut metal or other materials to meet specifications. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong technical skills, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure quality production in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience operating a press brake or similar machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with press brake controls, CNC programming (preferred), and blueprint reading.
  • Ability to conduct accurate measurements and make precise adjustments to produce high-quality parts.
  • Skills Certification in CNC or other relevant manufacturing training.
  • Previous experience with materials commonly used in press brake operations, such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and handle repetitive tasks.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machinery according to job specifications, including adjustments to bending angles, material size, and pressure settings.
  • Interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine specific requirements for each job.
  • Conduct measurements and inspections to ensure finished products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with machine operation, tooling, or material alignment to prevent defects.
  • Perform routine maintenance on press brake machinery and report any equipment issues to maintenance personnel.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, wearing appropriate protective gear, and following established safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, machine settings, and maintenance logs.
