About The Position

This position is for the purpose of providing clerical support in the Office of the President: establishing and maintaining records, overseeing completion of a biweekly employee newsletter, researching and compiling materials and reports, managing the Office of the President account , and all other tasks as assigned by the Executive Assistant to the President. Looking for a student with 10-15 hours per week. Office hours scheduled between 8:00am-4:30pm.

Requirements

  • Integrity and Discretion: The information the student worker will be viewing is highly sensitive in nature. Discretion and confidentiality are expected qualities for this position.
  • Competencies: The student worker will have the ability to scan documents on the copier, use email effectively, and prove competencies with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Google Apps, and general office equipment.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, accurate documentation, attention to detail, and dependability are imperative.
  • Behavioral: The student worker will interact with a variety of visitors on campus. Daily attire should be office appropriate or business casual. Guests (faculty, students, the public) to the offices should be greeted in a warm and welcoming manner as the student worker will often be the face of Covenant to those entering the president's office.
  • Must be a Covenant student participating in the student employment program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general office skills; compile and distribute materials and reports; respond to inquiries as needed
  • Serve as host to visitors entering the president's office; assist in maintaining the professional and tidy appearance of the office
  • Manage the Office of the President email account
  • Collect and mail correspondence
  • Assist in building the biweekly newsletter for the campus community
  • Provide research and compile data from various sources into executive summaries
  • Assist in the various preparations for on-site Board meetings
  • Complete all tasks assigned by the Executive Assistant to the President, and President Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed Career & Self-Development : Display curiosity; seek out opportunities to learn. Communication : Communicate in a clear, organized manner so that others, inside or outside of the Covenant community, can understand via email, in person or by phone. Have an attention to detail, resulting in few if any errors in their work. Prioritize/complete tasks to accomplish organizational goals. Taking ownership of the office by keeping it organized and clean. Teamwork : Effectively manage conflict, respect diverse personalities, and meet ambiguity with resilience. Collaborate with others to achieve common goals; working together effectively and sharing ideas and responsibilities. Technology : Identify appropriate technology for completing specific tasks and quickly adapt to unfamiliar and new technologies. Enhance or develop skills with G-Suite apps, CBI, and Slate.
