About The Position

The Learning Experience – River Vale is seeking an experienced Preschool Director to lead daily center operations, support teaching staff, and maintain a high-quality early childhood education environment serving children from infancy through preschool. This role is ideal for a strong educational leader who is passionate about coaching teachers, partnering with families, and ensuring compliance with New Jersey licensing standards while maintaining excellent classroom quality. At The Learning Experience, early education is made joyful, engaging, and fun, ensuring children are happy to learn, play, and grow. The curriculum focuses on the six ages and stages of early childhood development, engaging children in hands-on learning activities that encourage exploration and problem-solving at their own pace. This approach builds a strong foundation for children to Learn, Play, and Grow under the care of nurturing teachers and staff. The company utilizes a full cast of characters who serve as educators, partners, and friends throughout the preschool education journey, each with a unique personality and area of interest, bringing learning to life through fun and imagination. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, located in River Vale, NJ, with a starting salary of $58,000 per year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education required
  • Minimum 1 year of preschool or childcare management experience required
  • Strong knowledge of New Jersey childcare licensing standards
  • Experience supervising teachers and supporting classroom quality
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the preschool center and classroom programs
  • Support and coach teachers to maintain strong instructional practices
  • Ensure compliance with New Jersey childcare licensing requirements
  • Lead staff scheduling, classroom coverage, and ratio management
  • Partner with families through tours, enrollment conversations, and ongoing communication
  • Monitor classroom quality and curriculum implementation across age groups
  • Maintain accurate records and regulatory documentation
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development of teaching staff
