About The Position

Provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of a large Early Childhood Education program, leading high-quality educational services for a site serving 200+ enrolled children. Ensure program excellence by monitoring instructional quality, engaging in continuous quality improvement, and contributing to ongoing program development. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or similar field.
  • 4+ years of childcare experience.
  • 4+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to respond sensitively to cultural differences within the client population.
  • Ability to interact with clients with awareness of cultural and socioeconomic factors.
  • Strong direct service professional skills, including: – Commitment to empowering individuals to solve their own problems. – Belief in nurturing family environments and individuals’ capacity for growth. – Ability to develop respectful relationships with persons served. – Ability to collaborate with coworkers, professionals, and service providers. – Ability to maintain a helping role, set limits, and intervene appropriately to meet service goals.
  • Knowledge of: – Developmental stages. – Childcare discipline management. – Parent and child communication techniques. – Classroom environments appropriate to age and developmental stage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of assigned Early Childhood Education programs by ensuring compliance with licensing, Council on Accreditation, Step up to Quality, Title XX, and Nebraska Department of Education requirements.
  • Provide first- and second-level supervision to center staff, including hiring, orientation, and performance management in accordance with CSI policies and procedures.
  • Supervision includes: -Monthly in-office supervision of staff addressing challenges experienced in serving clients. – Monthly group meetings with staff to discuss common issues and facilitate problem-solving. – Monitoring the work of Early Childhood Education Supervisors, including coaching activities. – Completion of annual performance reviews and 90-day reviews for new staff. – Working with the Vice President of Educational Programing to improve staff retention. – Following hiring procedures to fill vacancies. – Following agency disciplinary procedures when necessary.
  • Provide oversight and training of personnel and volunteers, including program orientation for new hires and ongoing staff development.
  • Meet individually with parents to address concerns or complaints, representing the Early Childhood Education division and the agency.
  • Conduct tours, orientations, and facilitate group parent meetings.
  • Complete staff schedules and ensure teacher-to-child ratios are maintained.
  • Assist the Vice President of Educational Programming in program and project development and implementation.
  • Maintain fiscal accountability by assisting with annual budget development and monitoring adherence; supervise billing and collection components.
  • Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance needs.
  • Complete required duties for contracted partners.
  • Document program data for continuous quality improvement.
  • Oversee maintenance of Early Childhood Education records and files, ensuring confidentiality as appropriate.
  • Purchase program supplies.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Complete training necessary to perform job duties and support professional growth.
  • Promote a team atmosphere through collaboration with agency staff and a positive working environment.
  • Represent the agency and its programs positively to clients, community organizations, and the public.
  • Attend agency meetings and committee meetings as assigned.
