Assist the teacher with daily preparation and cleanup, including checking and maintaining supplies, materials, and equipment. Supervise and participate in all classroom activities. Review class activities with the teacher on a daily and weekly basis. Prepare projects and materials in advance, according to the “To Do List” or instructions from the teacher. Establish a positive and nurturing relationship will all children in the program. Inform the teacher of all accidents/ incidents and assist the teacher in completing all necessary forms. Participate in required number of hours of in-service or outside training opportunities as required by the Preschool Director. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Maintain current certification for First Aid and CPR. Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules. Attendance/Punctuality – Demonstrate consistent attendance and on-time arrival. Attendance is required for the entirety of the school year, which runs September thru May. Supports and exhibits the established organizational values of respect, communication, integrity, innovation, recognition, continuous learning, fun, empowerment and people. Assist the public and fellow employees in a courteous and efficient manner. Attend all preschool staff meetings, open houses, and any other special events when scheduled if directed so by the Preschool Director. Maintain a positive working relationship with supervisor, co-workers, and general public. Possess the ability to, under stressful conditions, fulfill job responsibilities and work with residents and staff. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
