About The Position

The Prepress Production Artist plays a key role in preparing creative files for print production and ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency across all deliverables. This position bridges the gap between design and manufacturing — reviewing, adjusting, and finalizing artwork files for print, supporting light production builds, and assisting in the creation of instruction sheets and kit documentation that accompany retail displays and signage. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and understands both the creative and technical sides of production. They take pride in catching errors before they hit the press and enjoy making sure every file meets brand and printer specifications.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in print production, prepress, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop required).
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, color management, and large-format printing.
  • Familiarity with dielines, bleeds, and material callouts for signage or retail display graphics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to work cross-functionally with design, production, and account teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail or environmental graphics preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review and preflight incoming design files to ensure accuracy, print readiness, and adherence to production specifications.
  • Make minor production edits such as resizing, formatting, image replacements, and color adjustments.
  • Build and release production-ready files for print, ensuring correct bleeds, color profiles, dielines, and linked assets.
  • Work closely with the Creative, Production, and Project Management teams to troubleshoot and correct any file-related issues prior to manufacturing.
  • Support development of instruction sheets, kit maps, and assembly diagrams that accompany store kits.
  • Maintain organization of artwork files, links, and outputs within shared systems.
  • Ensure all output meets quality standards and brand guidelines.
  • Support proofing and review of vendor-supplied art or samples as needed.
