About The Position

The purpose of the Prepared Foods Team Member II is to create a great customer experience through food production, stocking, customer services and store maintenance. To ensure a clean, growing, and well-maintained department with exceptional quality. Assist in production, pack out and providing an irresistible store experience for customers. Demonstrates proficiency in Team Member I essential responsibilities and function.

Requirements

  • Ability to use computer keyboard, monitor, mouse, telephone, and various office equipment continuously
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the work day
  • Ability to stand for long lengths of time, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach and climb stairs or ladders throughout the work day
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with customers and co-workers
  • Sufficient finger and hand dexterity to grasp and hold items of different sizes
  • Vision ability – close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception
  • Familiarity with natural foods, vegan and vegetarian cuisine as well as organic vs commercial growing practices
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, mornings and nights
  • Projects an outgoing, friendly personality
  • Regular, predictable attendance
  • Demonstrated objectivity, neutrality and calmness under pressure
  • Ability to follow established systems, procedures and policies with great attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary degree or certification or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Follow food recipes as written and make recommendations for improvement for existing recipes
  • Maintain effective working relations and model our cultural values, policies and procedures to promote team building
  • Provide and model exemplary service to customers and co-workers using established customer service standards
  • Provide product information and educational materials to customers, answer questions
  • Continuously research, develop and make improvements in efficiency, accuracy, service, quality and safety guidelines
  • Effectively influence staff to ensure proper training of newly hired and or newly assigned team members to execute desired results
  • Assist in operational cross training and product knowledge training and demonstrate these standards throughout the department
  • Safely perform all activities related to food production using established procedures and safety
  • Maintain safe, clean, organized workspace, storage areas, equipment and tools
  • Ensure prepared foods meet recipe standards of quality, consistency, look and taste and demonstrate these standards throughout the department
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and organized at all times
  • Pack-out, label and stock product to standard
  • Use food safety practices and product rotation to attain good shelf life and safe product for customers
  • Prevent, monitor, remove and communicate shrink to shift leaders using established shrink procedures
  • Ensure accurate and up to date production, shrink, and temperature records as directed.
  • Ensure all food stations are clean, stocked, full fresh and delicious at all times
  • Order, receive, display and sell all products in accordance with quality and merchandising standards
  • Participate in achieving margin and sales goals while maintaining a competitive image
  • Attend and participate in scheduled team meetings
  • Participate in periodic department inventories
  • Note and communicate equipment and tool malfunctions
  • Package, weigh, and price product according to specifications
  • Execute approved safety and sanitation programs in the department, including equipment cleaning schedule
  • Perform all maintenance and other tasks as assigned
  • Participate in daily faceoff of retail shelves
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by MOD, Kitchen Supervisor and or Department Manager
