We are seeking a dependable and driven Prepared Foods Cook to support our kitchen operations in our Chestnut Hill location. This is a full-time, non-exempt role working an anticipated 35-40 hours per week. Wednesday - Saturday availability is required. Our Prepared Foods Cooks are responsible for efficiently and consistently preparing high-volume food production in advance of service needs, ensuring seamless execution during peak hours. The successful candidate will follow standardized recipes to prepare, package, and label a diverse selection of high-quality prepared foods for retail. This is a hands-on position that plays a critical role in maintaining product availability and delivering a positive experience for our customers. Requirements

  • A commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op.
  • Prior experience in restaurant or commercial kitchens is required.
  • Proficient knife skills.
  • Solid knowledge of food safety practices.
  • A team player with great communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when needed.
  • Ability to remain standing for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • A genuine passion for food and current culinary trends.
  • Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op.

Nice To Haves

  • Volume cooking experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare items from our daily production list using provided recipes
  • Pre-wrap and label products for sale
  • Keep the kitchen clean and up to sanitation standards
  • Pitch in with weekend shifts as needed
  • Follow all Weavers Way policies and procedures
  • Attend team meetings and all-staff gatherings
  • Help with quarterly inventory counts
  • Read the day book and other updates at the start of each shift
  • Take on other duties as assigned by Kitchen Management
