About The Position

Take inventory of all items required for station set-up and determine those items that require preparation Prepare items according to standard recipes Coordinates and times orders with other kitchen operations Requisitions items needed to produce menu items Notify Chef of shortages Ensure that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary Set-up, maintains and breaks down prep cook station Covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are reusable Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the line prep area and equipment Assists in dish washing and return of dishware to appropriate storage Assists in removal of trash, old oil, etc to appropriate refuse bins Closes the kitchen properly Assist with other duties as assigned by Chef Attends staff meetings and offers suggestions for improvements

Requirements

  • Experience a plus
  • Follow all state and local health and food safety regulations - Food Safety Certification
  • Follows all safety procedures for operating and cleaning machinery
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform role in emergency situations
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, couch, bend, stretch and twist to reach
  • Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Continuous repetitive motions
  • Work in a hot and noisy environment

  • Closes the kitchen properly
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Chef
  • Attends staff meetings and offers suggestions for improvements
