Job Title: Prep Cook Company: Redwood Cove Healthcare Center Location: Ukiah, California Schedule: 16 hrs per week Pay: starting at $17/hr Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The Prep Cook will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and upholding high standards of food safety and sanitation. Requirements

• Previous experience as a prep cook or kitchen assistant preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and culinary terminology.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation principles, with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Current food handler's card or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes.
• Prepare food items in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards, ensuring freshness and flavor.
• Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to maintain consistency and minimize waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper storage and handling of food products.
• Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and replenishing supplies as needed.
• Support the culinary team during meal service, including plating and garnishing dishes as directed.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
