About The Position

Multnomah Athletic Club is a legendary hub of sports and socializing in Portland, offering a wide array of facilities including four restaurants, three pools, a climbing gym, fitness studios, racquet sport courts, massage offerings, a boutique, and various event spaces. As a Prep Cook and Dishwasher at the MAC, you will be essential in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene. Your responsibilities will include washing, drying, and storing dishware for banquet functions and restaurants, ensuring the highest sanitation standards. You will also support kitchen staff and participate in food production as needed, contributing to a positive and efficient team atmosphere. This is a full-time, fully on-site position at the club in Portland, OR.

Requirements

• Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams.
• A valid food handler’s permit.
• Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to maintain regular attendance.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, bend, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stamina is required to stay effective during long and busy shifts.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.

Nice To Haves

• One year of dishwashing or food production experience in a large facility.
• Some kitchen experience.
• Basic knife skills.
• Familiarity with food production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry, and store dishware for banquet functions and restaurants.
• Uphold state-mandated sanitation requirements to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Assist with food production and plating during banquets as assigned by kitchen management.
• Contribute to maintaining overall cleanliness and organization in the kitchen to ensure an efficient and positive work environment.
• Comply with all Club safety policies, promptly report unsafe conditions, and report injuries and illnesses to supervisors.
• Promote The MAC’s code of conduct and deliver quality service to members.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse team.
• Participate in all Club-related training classes and help train new dishwashers to ensure proficiency in all aspects of the dish area.
• Other duties as assigned.
