About The Position

We are excited to bring on a Premium & Billing Supervisor to assist in the leadership of the Group Protection organization! This role follows a hybrid work model for employees who reside within a commutable distance to one of our key city offices. Employees located outside of the commuting range will operate in a fully remote capacity. As a Premium & Billing Supervisor you will provide oversight and supervise the daily activities for a team of Premium Service Representatives and/or Billing Coordinators whose responsibility is to ensure all routine incoming premium, suspense management, and premium reporting are administered with the proper financial controls. You will also manage and create an environment that supports the customer-centric strategy, vision, and priorities of the organization

Requirements

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
  • 3 - 5+ Years of service operations, business operations, and/or financial operations experience in the insurance industry that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position; including 1+ year or managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Promote and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provide training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
  • Monitor and evaluate individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Supervise the day to day operations of for assigned area(s) of responsibility, including ensuring workloads are appropriately balanced among team members.
  • Set team priorities and performance goals to ensure task completion for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Build organizational capability within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Share technical knowledge with team members on escalated issues/concerns.
  • Ensure that top talent is hired and retained.
  • Establishe team priorities for routine premium and/or billing activities including billing, posting, and reconciliation of premiums and fees associated with suppliers and third party administrators.
  • Supervise team to deliver appropriate solutions to achieve objectives that provide a recommendable customer experience while protecting the company, shareholders, and customers.
  • Share technical knowledge with team and internal stakeholders regarding billing and premium workflows and issues as well as Lincoln products, services, and applicable administrative systems.
  • Monitor processes and procedures related to commission coordination with Partner Solutions for core group products, W2 form creation with claim, finance and corporate tax and worksite commission processing, reporting and servicing.
  • Monitor and evaluate trends, identifies opportunities, and recommends processes for team to improve productivity and accuracy in premium/billing processing to enhance customer experience.
  • Manage the execution of routine processes for billing, premium and vendor payments
  • Collaborate with finance and internal audit to implement and manage required and necessary operational and financial risk controls. Provides guidance to team to perform, document, and report on controls.
