About The Position

Timberline Construction Group (TCG) is seeking a Preconstruction Project Specialist to support complex permitting and preconstruction coordination activities for disaster recovery housing and reconstruction projects. This role works closely with the Preconstruction Manager to manage municipal approvals, engineering coordination, permitting strategies, and documentation processes for Manufactured Home Unit installations and site-built homes. The Preconstruction Project Specialist plays a key role in ensuring projects move efficiently from preconstruction planning to construction readiness.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of experience in construction preconstruction, permitting coordination, or project administration
  • Experience coordinating municipal permitting and regulatory approvals
  • Familiarity with SmartDraw, Bluebeam, and Xactimate
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and site layouts

Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination of permitting activities across multiple project sites.
  • Identify municipal requirements for manufactured housing installations and residential reconstruction projects.
  • Track project approvals, documentation, and timelines.
  • Prepare and manage submission of permit applications.
  • Coordinate with municipal planning departments, zoning officials, environmental health offices, and building departments.
  • Monitor permit approvals and address municipal comments or revisions.
  • Coordinate ordering and tracking of site surveys, engineering plans, and site layouts.
  • Maintain organized documentation systems and project tracking tools.
  • Ensure required documentation is submitted accurately and on schedule.
  • Assist the Preconstruction Manager with cost estimate preparation and project reporting.
  • Analyze project documentation and assist with identifying potential preconstruction issues.
  • Provide regular updates to internal project teams and leadership.
