About The Position

Timberline Construction Group (TCG) is seeking a Preconstruction Project Administrator to support preconstruction planning and permitting activities for disaster recovery housing and reconstruction projects in the Asheville, North Carolina region. This role assists the Preconstruction Manager by coordinating permitting, engineering documentation, site surveys, and municipal requirements for Manufactured Home Unit (MHU) installations and site-built homes. The position requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work with multiple municipalities and project stakeholders. Due to an increasing project workload and anticipated structural growth, two Preconstruction Project Administrators will be hired to support expanding project operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction permitting, preconstruction coordination, or project administration
  • Basic understanding of construction plans or site plans
  • Familiarity with SmartDraw and Bluebeam software
  • Experience using Xactimate for cost estimate preparation
  • Experience working with municipal permitting processes

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications to local municipalities.
  • Coordinate with municipal departments including planning, environmental health, zoning, and building departments.
  • Identify jurisdiction-specific requirements for manufactured housing installations and site-built homes.
  • Order and track site surveys, engineering reports, site plans, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation within company systems.
  • Track permitting status, approvals, and project milestones.
  • Assist with gathering documentation required for preconstruction planning and approvals.
  • Support preparation of cost estimates and project reports as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including construction managers, estimators, and project managers.
  • Communicate regularly with municipal offices, consultants, engineers, and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to project approvals and permitting processes.
