Brothers Group, a fast-growing construction company focusing on ground-up commercial construction and tenant improvement projects, is recruiting for a Preconstruction Manager; Peoplr is excited to be leading this search. In this role, you will lead the preconstruction department—overseeing estimating, scheduling, training, and the development of standards and best practices across all commercial project types. This role drives strategic alignment with company goals while partnering closely with Operations, Business Development, and Ownership to support growth, profitability, and market positioning. You will directly manage bid preparation activities, including conceptual estimating, subcontractor negotiations, value engineering, and proposal development, while fostering strong relationships with clients and design partners. Additionally, you will ensure accurate project planning by supporting cost control systems, schedule development, and continuous improvement across the preconstruction process. This is a full-time, permanent position. The chosen candidate will work onsite out of the company’s headquarters in Jacksonville, FL.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in estimating, including at least 5 years of senior-level experience
  • Expertise with GMP estimating, constructability, value engineering, and risk mitigation
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, put together quality bids, and create quantity takeoffs
  • Proficiency with relevant software (e.g., Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar)
  • Proven history preparing estimates for ground-up commercial construction and large-scale renovation projects
  • Proficiency with flatwork and vertical estimating
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent
