About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Preconstruction Coordinator to join our Newport News, Virginia office. This role provides high-level estimating and administrative support to the preconstruction team, assisting in managing bid proposals, trade partner communications, and project documentation. Requirements

  • 1–3 years of industry experience in preconstruction, estimating, or construction support.
  • Advanced proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Team player with eagerness to learn from seasoned estimators and assist fellow coworkers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with construction management software (e.g., Bluebeam, On Screen Takeoff) and bid solicitation/database programs is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Assemble, and Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and estimating support to the preconstruction team.
  • Manage bid proposals, project plans, and documentation for multiple active projects.
  • Perform bid solicitation via phone and email; manage subcontractor database entries.
  • Coordinate communications between team members, trade partners, and other stakeholders to address project questions and clarifications.
  • Organize, maintain, and track project documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Assist in project scope reviews and support trade partner relations.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed on time and adhere to company processes and procedures.
