The Role Provides support to Preconstruction Managers by directing estimators to provide detailed estimates as required, particularly lumber estimates, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Civil.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or Engineering.
  • Experience: 3-5+ Years of Relevant Experience
  • Reads and writes English as demonstrated by clear and concise written and verbal communications.
  • Creates and delivers group presentations on function-related subject matter and writes reports in a clear, concise form.
  • Performs basic Microsoft Office applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Performs intermediate mathematic skills, both arithmetic and geometric, to convert measurements when reviewing blueprints and floor plans.
  • Exhibits ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb (stairs, ladders, etc.).
  • Frequently operates general office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, telephone, photocopying machine, facsimile machine, and postage machine.
  • Utilizes computerized estimating systems, such as On-Screen Takeoff and Timberline, as demonstrated by prior experience with such a system.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the Redevelopment team in the estimating process.
  • Prepares estimates from conceptual and schematic level plans.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of site development costs.
  • Exhibits knowledge of construction systems and products alternatives with regards to cost, quality of finished product, life cycle maintenance costs, speed of construction, and trade involvement with respect to labor supply, union involvement, and material availability.
  • Assists development divisions, architects, engineers, construction project managers, and design/build subcontractors to ensure consistent accuracy and completeness of plans and specifications.
