About The Position

Do you thrive on catching the thousandths others might miss? If blueprint reading and GD&T are your second language and you enjoy partnering with machinists on the floor, this role in the Downers Grove area could be your next step. Role snapshot In-process and final inspections for precision machined components that must meet rigorous aerospace and industry criteria. Hands-on use of micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, and other digital/hand metrology tools. Verification of dimensions and surface finish against prints, specifications, and inspection plans. Accurate documentation of inspection results, nonconformances, and test data following established quality procedures. Immediate communication of any dimensional or quality issues to operators and supervisors to keep production on track. Interpretation of engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets to ensure conformance. Assistance with calibration activities and maintenance of inspection records. Strict adherence to traceability, documentation, and cleanliness expectations. Based in the Downers Grove area, you’ll help ensure every part that leaves our floor is ready for the most demanding applications.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in quality inspection or manufacturing; aerospace, automotive, or precision machining preferred.
  • Proven ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, etc.).
  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a quality-first mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • CMM operation or data review experience is helpful but not required.
