As General Manager, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the New Kensington Precision Machining Group (NKPM), establishing long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies as they relate to both NKPM and other business units of Re:Build New Kensington. This is a tremendous opportunity where you will have complete profit and loss ownership of this operation, which we intend to grow to a $50MM+ operation in less than five years. NKPM will be focused on complex, relatively tight tolerance production of aerospace, industrial, and energy-related machined parts. Substantial investment is planned in new equipment and facilities to support this endeavor.

Requirements

  • Must be a "builder-leader" highly capable on the shop floor leading by example
  • Working knowledge of precision machining technologies, including but not limited to CNC programming, operations and maintenance, tooling, automation, and suitable CAD/CAM software selection and deployment
  • Proven experience in precision machining and leading teams in an AS9100 manufacturing environment
  • BSIE or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with large format machining, exotic materials, and 5-axis and mill-turn operations preferred.
  • Experience in adjacent processes to milling and turning (i.e., grinding, boring, honing, EDM, etc.) desirable

Responsibilities

  • Defines, monitors, reviews, and updates the NKPM group context and strategic direction
  • Determines and provides resources, personnel, and infrastructure necessary to produce precision machined components and assemblies to support programmatic and job-specific business opportunities
  • Manages the group which includes, but is not limited to, day-to-day management of the team, assignment of work, and scheduling and coordination of work to meet deadlines and organizational goals
  • Establishes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and a plan for achieving them
  • Defines, implements, and maintains robust and efficient production processes that meet organizational, product, quality, and customer requirements. Monitors, measures and reports on the performance of these processes
  • Hires, develops, and manages the NKPM team to ensure a high level of technical competence, strong work ethic, and adherence to Re:Build Way Principles
  • Demonstrates leadership and commitment with respect to the quality management system and customer focus
  • Ensures that the responsibilities and authorities for relevant roles are assigned, communicated, and understood
