Precision Grinder - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, has an opening for a Precision Grinder for our 2nd shift operations working full-time Monday-Thursday and may require working on Friday based on workloads. Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility. A day in the life of a Precision Grinder includes setting-up and operating manual and CNC precision grinding machines to grind a variety of carbide, stainless steel, and bronze parts to specified dimensions. The set-up and operation of honing machines and keyway cutters. Selecting, mounting, attaching and calibrating a variety of different grinding wheels for cylindrical and flat grinding. The Precision Grinder interprets engineering prints and set-up notes to determine fixturing needed, dimensional specifications, setup, and operating requirements.
Requirements
- minimum of one to two years related experience and/or training with a high school education or equivalent
- ability to solve math problems
- use precision measuring instruments
- basic computer skills
- able to communicate effectively
- Physical Demands include remaining stationery for sustained durations, stooping/bending, pushing/pulling, overreaching, wrist movement, and griping, grasping and/or squeezing
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with FANUC controls
- experience with Studer and Agathon
Responsibilities
