About The Position

Abrasive Form is a world leader in high precision Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) machining. We manufacture turbine blades and vanes for many of the largest gas turbine manufacturers and militaries around the world. We use high precision CNC milling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and 3 and 5-axis creep feed and CBN grinding. The Precision Surface Grinder (Radius & Prep Operator) has critical areas of responsibility for deburring and smoothing out parts as a final step in operations and quality to meet our increasing customer demand. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Able to read job specifications and follow directions as needed.
Diligent in taking the time to document non-conforming parts 100% of the time.
Must be able to follow direction and maintain documentation as needed for each job.
Talking, hearing, and using hands to operate machining equipment.
Ability to maneuver and hold parts at or above waist height while performing the work.
Must be able to lift at least 25lbs frequently and on occasion up to 50lbs.
Must be able to work on your feet in a manufacturing environment.
Physical ability to do work requiring frequent lifting, twisting, standing, stooping, and bending.
Usual manufacturing environment with temperature fluctuations, noise from and interactions with equipment, and safety standards of PPE and practices required.

Nice To Haves

Experience using measuring equipment such as caliper, micrometer, gages is preferred.
Prior experience working in aerospace or other manufacturing industry, preferred.

Responsibilities

Using a motorized cylindrical brush, operator smooths edges of part according to customer specifications.
Insert radius in certain parts using a grinding wheel.
Ensure parts are within the defined specifications to meet quality standards.
