As precision agriculture continues to grow, we are seeking a Precision Farming Specialist & Technician who combines strong technical skills with a customer-focused, sales-support mindset to help drive adoption, performance, and value of precision technology. Position Summary The Precision Farming Specialist & Technician is a hybrid sales-support and technical service role responsible for promoting, supporting, and servicing precision agriculture technology and equipment. This position works directly with customers to identify needs, demonstrate solutions, provide hands-on setup and training, and deliver ongoing technical support. The role also performs diagnostics, repair, and maintenance work to ensure reliable performance and customer satisfaction. Success in this position directly supports customer retention, technology adoption, and dealership growth.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude within agricultural or heavy equipment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Experience working directly with customers in a support, sales, or service role.
  • Proficient with computers and able to learn dealership and precision software systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in precision agriculture, equipment sales support, or service technician roles.
  • Experience with Case IH, AGCO, Fendt, or similar equipment and precision platforms.
  • Technical certification in agricultural mechanics, diesel technology, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Support and promote precision agriculture solutions to new and existing customers.
  • Partner with equipment sales staff to identify precision technology opportunities and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct on-site and in-field demonstrations of precision equipment and technology.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
  • Provide post-sale follow-up, optimization, and ongoing customer support.
  • Assist in promoting precision-related upgrades, service plans, and technology packages.
  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and support precision farming systems including GPS guidance, displays, monitors, yield mapping, and telematics.
  • Diagnose and repair agricultural and construction equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
  • Perform warranty repairs and preventive maintenance per manufacturer and dealership standards.
  • Support field service calls and on-site repairs as needed.
  • Train customers on precision systems, software updates, and best practices.
  • Clearly communicate technical findings, recommendations, and solutions to customers.
  • Accurately document service work, precision support, labor, and parts usage in the dealership system.
  • Collaborate with sales, service, and parts teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of precision products, pricing, promotions, and manufacturer updates.
  • Assist with equipment setup, inspections, and delivery preparation.
  • Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision technology devices.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
