Precision CNC/Manual Machining Specialist Location: Itasca, IL (West Suburbs) Schedule: 2nd Shift | 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM with regular overtime; initial training on 1st shift Compensation: $25–$30/hr + $3/hr shift differential (flexible for highly qualified talent) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (approximately 6 months) Open Roles: 7–11 positions What your evening looks like You clock in to a busy, growing OEM known for building custom industrial machinery deployed in data centers and other critical infrastructure. With a strong backlog and a newly launched second shift, you’ll move from reading complex prints to setting up your machine, transferring programs, and machining unique parts to tight tolerances. Every job is different, and your craftsmanship shows in each finished component. Opportunities to Match Your Strengths CNC Machining — Set up and run CNC mills and/or lathes; adjust offsets and edit code (G-code or Mazatrol); work on high-mix, low-volume parts; upload/download programs through CNC software; verify dimensions, finishes, and tolerances; suggest process improvements; perform routine preventive maintenance. Manual Machining — Produce custom one-off components on Bridgeport-style mills; drill and tap thick steel and aluminum; follow detailed mechanical drawings; inspect using precision measuring tools; support custom machine builds and assemblies. Candidates may be considered for either CNC or Manual roles based on experience.
