About The Position

Do you enjoy building or fixing things and working in a hands-on environment? We are searching for a Precision Assembler to assemble parts to specifications and drawings using the right tools and equipment to meet time and quality standards. This isn’t your standard assembly line job — you’ll work on a variety of tasks and move between different stations, helping build sub-assemblies for the high-precision equipment and fiber optics technology that our customers rely on. Every day brings something new, and you’ll take pride in knowing your craftsmanship and high quality directly supports industries like fiber optics, aerospace, and defense.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Able to perform basic tasks in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation with minimal supervision required.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to learn new skills and concepts.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • High school graduate with trade or technical school education preferred, in areas such as Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Electrical Technology, or Robotics/Industrial Automation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in precision assembly, manufacturing, or related technical hands-on environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with microscopy, metrology, hand and power tools, measuring instruments, or basic electronics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures parts used in assembly are correct, functional, and of high quality.
  • May need to deburr or remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce required fit between parts.
  • Visually quality inspect assembled parts for defects and informs supervisor if defects are found.
  • Looks for assembly or process improvements that result in increased quality and/or productivity.
  • Assists in development and maintenance of assembly methods, including assembly drawings, bill of materials, and maintaining written procedures.
  • Makes proper use of equipment and tools for assembly and inspection.
  • Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork with co-workers, management, and outside contacts.
  • Seeks out additional duties as needed.
