Pre-Vocational Counselor COME GROW WITH US! PURPOSE The Pre-Vocational Counselor provides direct services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness within our Day Treatment Program. This role focuses on psycho-social skill-building, group facilitation, and supporting clients in developing independence and life skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral or Social Sciences
  • Intermediate knowledge of mental health interventions and client assessment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to document accurately and timely
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, internet, Zoom)
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Must be insurable

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6 months experience in behavioral or social services

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate psycho-social skill-building groups
  • Monitor and assess client behavior and overall wellbeing
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment/program plans
  • Lead structured activities and special projects
  • Supervise clients during all program activities
  • Complete and maintain treatment/program plans
  • Document daily progress notes and weekly summaries
  • Conduct and document progress reviews
  • Attend daily program meetings
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Participate in staff meetings and required trainings
  • Assist with daily lunch service
  • Engage in staff development and in-service trainings
  • Coordinate with residential and case management teams
  • Support overall program operations
