About The Position

Conducts pretrial investigations to determine the release of individuals; prepares release documents; supervises individuals to ensure adherence to the terms of their release and trial proceedings.1. Conducts pretrial defendant investigations, including collateral contacts as needed for verification; develops release recommendations and testifies in court as needed; processes release documents. 2. Supervises offenders awaiting trial as needed, meeting weekly or as needed with each client, and performing all other client- and court-related duties; conducts regular case file reviews to ensure compliance with release conditions; monitors status of monitoring devices; assesses and refers offenders on release to appropriate support services; completes monthly data reports and other reports as assigned; and reviews and submits all correspondence and reports to management. 3. Monitors court dates and notifies offenders of changes in court dates; communicates with offenders to reschedule missed court appearances; and prepare documents to revoke bond and issue an arrest warrant when needed. 4. Serves as expediter to facilitate a timely release from jail; liaison with local law enforcement, the public, community agencies, and other County departments; responds to inquiries for information and assistance from the community-at-large, law enforcement, and other requesting parties and entities. 5 Performs related duties as assigned.Education, Experience and Training: Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, social services, public administration or related field. Two (2) years work related experience. Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Physical/Environmental Requirements: Standard Office Environment with some time spent in a secure facility.

Requirements

  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, social services, public administration or related field.
  • Two (2) years work related experience.
  • Skilled in the use of standard software applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.
