About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on Presales Engineer with deep Salesforce platform expertise to support client-facing technical discovery, solution design, and internal alignment. This role partners closely with Sales to ensure client requirements are clearly understood, technically feasible, and translated into structured inputs for Product and Engineering. This role formalizes pre-sales by replacing ad-hoc discovery with a repeatable, Salesforce-first technical process

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Presales, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, or Salesforce implementation roles
  • 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience, including:
  • Custom & standard objects
  • Record types, page layouts, and permission sets
  • Salesforce Flows and basic automation
  • Reports and dashboards
  • Proven experience leading technical discussions with external clients
  • Strong ability to translate business workflows into Salesforce architecture
  • Experience documenting requirements for Product and Engineering teams
  • Salesforce configuration and data modeling
  • Workflow automation (Flows; Apex familiarity a plus)
  • Data access, sharing, and security models
  • Integrations and data exchange concepts (APIs, ETL, sync tools)
  • Strong written documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce certifications (Admin, Platform App Builder, etc.)
  • Experience in healthcare, fintech, or regulated industries
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum product delivery
  • Experience supporting multi-org or multi-tenant Salesforce environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery on sales and pre-implementation calls
  • Deeply understand client workflows, data models, user roles, and security needs
  • Ask probing questions to uncover edge cases, constraints, and non-obvious requirements
  • Design high-level Salesforce solutions using standard/custom objects, flows, validation rules, and permissions
  • Assess configuration vs. customization tradeoffs
  • Identify impacts to data integrity, reporting, and scalability
  • Translate client needs into clear functional and technical requirements
  • Produce presales artifacts (solution overview, assumptions, risks, open questions)
  • Ensure requirements are implementation-ready before handoff
  • Collaborate with Product to validate roadmap alignment and scope
  • Partner with Engineering to assess feasibility, dependencies, and effort
  • Align Sales, Product, and Engineering before client commitments are finalized
  • Own and continuously improve the Salesforce pre sales workflow
  • Define entry/exit criteria for pre sales ? implementation handoff
  • Create reusable templates, checklists, and best practices
