SUMMARY Handles all aspects of Pre-Production, from order intake to shipment. Technicians will be responsible for ensuring accurate transitions from prototyping to mass production. All parts, materials, assemblies, documentation, and processes will be validated, and documented by this technician. Assess, create, compile, assemble all production documents, labels, leaflets, comps, and any other required materials needed for production/assembly. Review proof and production specification for accuracy, practicality, feasibility, and completeness. Pull sample from approved proto or previous production run for comparison. Maintain proof/sample archive. Ensure presence of required materials, tooling, and equipment to produce a proof sample. Aim to complete all pre-production validations within 3 days of order receipt. Chase down any details, specs, parts, information that may be holding up project progression. Gather parts/print documentation for proof build. Print, review, request changes, validate labels, hardware sheets, and any required production documentation. Provide labeled, 100% accurate signed off proof copies of all parts, docs, and other required materials. Build proof with project designer for parts/build validation. Identify assembly needs, issues, handling precautions. Validate BOM line by line to ensure absolute accuracy. Verify packaging validity, corrugate usage, and document details on BOM. Obtain all necessary pre-production signoffs. Develop assembly plan as needed and create any instructional materials necessary (pics, vids, examples) Perform build demonstration and instruct assembly lead with line setup, and address concerns. Update obsolete BOMs to current formatting / platform. Attend and document project debrief. Assist Engineering with sample builds, packaging, and other engineering tasks as needed.
