About The Position

The Pre-Production Assembly Associate is responsible for preparing and staging materials, components, and subassemblies prior to entering the sewing line. This role ensures all products are accurately kitted, inspected, and aligned with production requirements to support efficient workflow and minimize downtime. The position also provides backup support for component picking and warehouse picking operations, contributing to overall inventory accuracy and production continuity. The Pre-Production Assembly Associate reports to the Production Supervisor and works closely with production leads, warehouse staff, and cross-functional teams. They collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure production readiness and uphold company standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent; manufacturing or warehouse training is a plus
  • Experience in assembly, manufacturing, or warehouse operations preferred
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow work instructions, BOMs, and production documentation
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet production deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Experience with inventory or ERP systems is a plus
  • Ability to apply common sense and problem-solving skills to routine tasks

Responsibilities

  • Pre-Production Assembly & Preparation: • Assemble and kit components according to manufacturing orders (MOs), bills of materials (BOMs), and production specifications • Prepare and stage materials for the sewing line to ensure continuous production flow • Inspect components and materials for quality, accuracy, and completeness prior to release • Bundle and organize work-in-progress (WIP) to support sewing operations • Label and identify materials clearly for production use
  • Production Coordination: • Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks based on daily production needs • Communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues to supervisors • Coordinate with cutting, sewing, and warehouse teams to ensure readiness • Monitor workflow to prevent delays or bottlenecks in production
  • Quality Control: • Verify all materials meet company quality standards before entering production • Identify and report defective or non-conforming materials • Ensure all components match specifications and required quantities • Maintain accurate documentation of prepared materials and assemblies
  • Backup – Component Picking: • Pick components according to BOMs and production orders • Verify part numbers, quantities, and condition of materials • Stage components for production and maintain organized storage areas
  • Backup – Warehouse Picking: • Assist with order picking, packing, and movement of materials within the warehouse • Accurately pull inventory using pick lists or inventory systems • Support inventory counts and assist in resolving discrepancies • Follow proper handling and storage procedures
  • Organization & Maintenance: • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials and components • Perform end-of-day cleanup and maintain production readiness
