About The Position

The Pre-Finisher I installs all door sills, rub rails, fenderettes, roll up doors, steps, running boards, and tail board. They will be required to fabricate intermediate steps and other fabrication needed. As a Pre-Finisher, they will bend and cut sheets of metal as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Welding Experience required.
• 1 year of experience using a shear and break press.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
• Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure

Responsibilities

• Installs all door sills, rub rails, fenderettes, roll up doors, steps, running boards, and tail board.
• Fabricates intermediate steps and other fabrication needed.
• Bends and cuts sheets of metal as needed.
• Measures and cuts out flat doors for each truck’s specifications.
• Welds to complete the fabrication process as needed.
• Utilizes basic hand tools, shear, and brake press.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.
