About The Position

The Pre-Construction Project Executive is the strategic lead for all front-end activities required to transition a potential site from a real estate concept to an executable project. This role oversees a multidisciplinary team responsible for due diligence, and engineering design standards. By managing the Design-to-Permit pipeline, this executive ensures that the project teams receive fully vetted, permitted, and engineered site plans that adhere to Waymo’s rapid-deployment requirements. Pay: $65,450 - $121,550 Annually The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Project Management; PMP is preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years in pre-construction, design management, or site development, specifically within industrial, high-tech, or EV infrastructure sectors.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of electrical systems, CAD workflows, and the permitting/entitlement process for EV Deployment projects.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing technical staff (Engineers/Drafters) and third-party vendors under aggressive timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Due Diligence & Compliance
  • Portfolio Due Diligence: Direct a Due Diligence Manager to oversee property condition reports, permitting workflows, and local zoning assessments for multiple concurrent expansion sites.
  • Electrical & Infrastructure Assessment: Ensure comprehensive electrical systems assessments are completed to support high-demand EV charging deployment and technical service needs.
  • EHS Reporting & Risk: Oversee the preparation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) reporting to ensure all new sites meet ABM and Waymo safety and contractual standards.
  • Design Engineering & Standards Governance
  • Technical Team Leadership: Manage a group of Electrical Application Engineers and CAD Drafters focused on developing standardized, high-quality EV charging and site infrastructure designs.
  • Design Quality Control: Ensure all rapid-deploy EV designs meet rigorous quality standards and site-specific operational requirements.
  • Standardization: Establish and maintain the Design Playbook to allow for compressed 30–90 day turnaround timelines once construction begins.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Pre-Con Vendor Management: Curate and manage a specialized vendor list to support all pre-construction activities.
  • Inter-Departmental Liaison: Serve as the primary link between Waymo’s Real Estate team and ABM’s operational execution teams to ensure project scope and resource requirements are clearly defined.
  • Executive Reporting: Provide high-cadence reporting on site readiness scores, permitting hurdles, and pre-construction budget expenditures to executive stakeholders.
