The primary function of this position is to learn about the company processes for safely maintaining and repairing various battery manufacturing equipment to be within established productivity and quality standards. The Pre-Apprentice will learn aspects of production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Requirements

Current high school juniors or seniors living in or attending school (public, private, charter, online, homeschool) in Randolph County, NC
2.8 Grade Point Average (Unweighted) NOTE: if below a 2.8 GPA, additional college classes may be necessary-
Successfully completed Math I, II and III (Precalculus desired)
Attend a company open house with a parent/guardian

Responsibilities

Follow all safety standards at all times
Learn & demonstrate knowledge of the processes and skills required to move into an Apprentice role.
Be a self-starter - demonstrate initiative to identify and apply solutions to remove roadblocks.
Demonstrate ownership and willingness to continuously improve self and area of accountability that will enhance safety, quality, organization, and productivity
Comply with the terms of the Youth Employment Certificate.
Other duties as assigned.
